As you would expect from an agency, we’re all creative at Michon. But we are also switched on when it comes to understanding commercial value. And that is what makes us different.
We’re chuffed to bits to have been awarded silver in the ‘Best Interiors’ category at the Roses Design Awards, held on the 23rd of October. The award will take pride of place on our bookcase in studio, alongside our Nottingham Creative Business Award that we won earlier in the month.
The Roses Design Awards are open to any organisations outside of London, so it’s a big compliment to have our office do so well. And another good excuse for a little celebration!
The E.ON Climate and Renewables stand made it’s annual appearance at the BWEA31 exhibition in Liverpool this week. The stand’s modular, open-plan design demonstrated its ability to be flexible – moving from large to smaller exhibitions, whist still giving E.ON maximum exposure.
The stand is used to publicly demonstrate E.ON’s expertise and large-scale investment in renewable technology, educating visitors about onshore and offshore wind farms, marine and biomass technologies. The stand also uses touch-screen technology to encourage visitor interaction and engage attendees in learning about E.ON’s portfolio of renewable technologies.
We’ve picked our secret Santa names today! Which may seem early, but the competitive (and since last year, revengeful) nature of our secret Santa means we need a good run up! And at only £5 each, it requires some creative thinking. Meet Dave, our friendly reindeer, bringing joy to the festive season…
Our Creative Director Tony Michon did us all proud yesterday by running the Worksop half marathon. It was an incredibly windy day, but in spite of that Tony dragged himself out of bed and ran the course in a very respectable 2 hours and 2 minutes, and in doing so he has raised a massive £740 (and counting) for Cancer Research. Well done Tony!
The fundraising page is still open, so if you want to do your bit, or simply want to see the current total, then visit Just Giving. Tony would like to say a BIG thanks to everyone who’s supported him and helped him to raise money for this very worthy cause.
We've got his number!
Tony crosses the finish line - still breathing - just!
We’re keen to keep up-to-date with the latest ‘green’ products and we love this new invention from Cyberpac… an incredible dissolving bag! All you need to do is put the bag in hot water and watch it disappear! Creative Review will be debuting the dissolving bag with their November issue, so we’ll be eagerly awaiting our copy so we can try it for ourselves.

Cyberpac have developed a whole range of environmentally friendly packaging products called ‘harmless’, which includes Harmless bubble wrap made from cornstarch- so now you really can pop away without a guilty conscience.
We know it isn’t the time of year to be thinking of keeping cool, but this beautiful new piece of design by Dyson has certainly caught our eye. The Dyson Air Multiplier™ is designed to generate smooth, uninterrupted airflow with no buffeting and to top it off, it looks stunning. Hopefully we will be putting our order in soon.
We love our chocolate here at Michon as you’ll have probably noticed from some of our previous posts, such as the chocolate letterpress and chocolate Swiss Army Knife. This week it’s National Chocolate Week and we’ve been celebrating by eating lots of chocolate. For those of you who are watching your waistline we’ve found the perfect calorie-free chocolate must have… a chocolate iPod cover.

These nifty little iPod shuffle cases from SwitchEasy look good enough to eat, although we doubt they taste as good as the real thing. Happy Chocolate Week!
Michon Creative – Architecture, Urban & Interior Design award winners!
We’re really thrilled to announce that we won the ‘Architecture, Urban and Interior Design award’ last night at the Nottingham Creative Business Awards. It was a fantastic night and a good time was had by all. The trophy has now taken pride of place on our bookcase in studio.
As part of our submission we produced this video, which showcases The Old School Rooms.
Well done to all the winners, especially our friends at Scene Photography, who picked up the ‘Photography’ and ‘Creative Business of the Year’ awards at last night’s ceremony. Well done guys, you deserved it.
A full list of winners will shortly be published here.
