As you would expect from an agency, we’re all creative at Michon. But we are also switched on when it comes to understanding commercial value. And that is what makes us different.
The Drum featured our design of E’ON’s ‘onenergy’ magazine on their website today. The magazine is targeted at Members of Parliament and provides client’s views on energy policy and updates on E.ON’s UK business. You can read all about it on the Drum’s website.
You couldn’t miss the trailer we recently designed for E.ON. They’ve been out and about in it giving the general public advice on how to lower energy bills this winter. We created an interactive outdoor game to attract passers-by and have also produced an online version of it. You can have a go yourself here.
Senior Campaign Officer in E.ON’s Customer PR Team, says: “We gave Michon a difficult brief and they embraced the challenge and worked closely with us to create an engaging and inviting way to communicate this advice. We’re delighted with the end result.”
What could be better than a cup of fresh coffee and a biscuit? Well, how about a coffee in an edible biscuit cup? First you drink the coffee then you eat the cup! This delicious treat is the creation of Venezuelan designer Enrique Luis Sardi and Italian coffee giant Lavazza. The cup is made from pastry with a special icing sugar, which acts as an insulator and also makes it waterproof, so thankfully you don’t have to worry about your cup disintegrating!
The Cookie Cup makes washing-up a thing of the past!
We’re chuffed to bits to have been awarded silver in the ‘Best Interiors’ category at the Roses Design Awards, held on the 23rd of October. The award will take pride of place on our bookcase in studio, alongside our Nottingham Creative Business Award that we won earlier in the month.
The Roses Design Awards are open to any organisations outside of London, so it’s a big compliment to have our office do so well. And another good excuse for a little celebration!
We know it isn’t the time of year to be thinking of keeping cool, but this beautiful new piece of design by Dyson has certainly caught our eye. The Dyson Air Multiplier™ is designed to generate smooth, uninterrupted airflow with no buffeting and to top it off, it looks stunning. Hopefully we will be putting our order in soon.
Michon Creative – Architecture, Urban & Interior Design award winners!
We’re really thrilled to announce that we won the ‘Architecture, Urban and Interior Design award’ last night at the Nottingham Creative Business Awards. It was a fantastic night and a good time was had by all. The trophy has now taken pride of place on our bookcase in studio.
As part of our submission we produced this video, which showcases The Old School Rooms.
Well done to all the winners, especially our friends at Scene Photography, who picked up the ‘Photography’ and ‘Creative Business of the Year’ awards at last night’s ceremony. Well done guys, you deserved it.
A full list of winners will shortly be published here.
We were all glued to the TV last night for the launch of the BBC’s new reality show ‘Design for life’. The programme follows 12 British product design hopefuls battle it out for a placement at Philippe Starck’s agency in Paris. Design for life will be on BBC 2 on Monday nights for the next 6 weeks.
We entered our “Saint or Sinner?” campaign for E.ON into the Drum Marketing Awards for the category “Best cause related campaign” and we’ve just learnt that we’ve been nominated! Woohoo! In this category we are up against Savvy Marketing with an Asda campaign and Bauer Media with their ROAR campaign for the Scottish Government. For a full list of awards and nominees go to: http://www.thedrummarketingawards.com. We’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed!
Dave Pettitt, our Senior Art Director at Michon, was recently talking to New Design Magazine about the benefits and pitfalls of digital design in our industry. He also mentioned one of our previous projects with Hanson Building Products, an advertising campaign to promote the sustainability values of the Hanson brand. You can read the article below.
We think these magnetic curtains by Florian Kräutli are brilliant. You can push and pull them into any shape you like, allowing you to create a real statement at your windows. The curtains are due to be put into production shortly by Amsterdam-based ‘Droog Design’. We hope they’re released soon so we can get some for the office!
